ITM # 1

After nabbing top honours at the In The Mix Dj Awards 2008, Tydi made his triumphant return to the Northern Territory on Saturday night. For those who don't remember, Tydi used to play in Darwin a year or two ago...only he played at The Rox and Time. (During his Darwin Hiatus, he managed to release a few tracks, obtain residency at Family in Brisbane and get signed to Amarda Records i.e Armin Van Buurin's label.)

Now, I was a little sceptical about a Trance Dj playing at a venue that typically plays house/electro/mainstream etc, however not to be discouraged, he took to the stage with a half capacity crowd. The less than enthusiastic punters weren’t exactly receptive to his opening track nor his second (I thought 'Angel on my Shoulders' was a sure thing?).

He then made the very odd transition into some live Daft Punk which shook the crowd a little, however he still needed help from the MC to get the crowd going.

We left after about half an hour still not convinced he deserved the number 1 spot.

Post Scipt: Yo Tydi, what's with your shoes? ITM # 1 and your still wearing those white budget adidas-esque sneakers?
