Happy Yess threw a Kraftwerk Tribute on Friday. We attended with ears ready for delightful sounds being covered by bands and sets by deejays.
Megan Spencer of Triple J fame was a guest dj for the evening expressing her visible adoration for the god fathers of electro/kraut rock/minimal bleep rock. The night included Kraftwerk covers and dj sets consisting of singles, b sides and rarities along with other tracks by artists influenced by the band.
Tracks by Gary Numan, Bikini Kill, Joy Division, New Order, Grand Master Flash & The Furious Five and Senor Coconut gave the very diverse crowd a very good reason to dance up a storm.
All in all it was a great night and it was good to see that so many people haven't forgotten Karaftwerk as they are such an influential band.
