MID-WEEK GEEK

The weekend was dreary. Hot Potato seriously need to get their sound sorted out. Bass killing your drums in the stairwell and on the dance floor and reverberation at the top bar.

Verbatim: "It sounds like the dj started getting into electronic music in 2006, bought a heap of ministry compilations and never really expanded from their..."

How could we forget Discovery? Resident dj dropped the remix of "White Noise" by Living End that stole the 'Wow...bass' from Crookers which went straight into a hip hop mega mix circa '95. (Consisting of California Love...scratching included)

Enjoy the following delights.

Passion Pit – Sleepy Head (LOL Boys Remix) <---- One of the best tracks of 2K8. Boston based group who's lead singer wrote the e.p for his girlfriend then decided to give it to his friends as well. Highly rec their e.p 'Chunk of Change' available on itunes. Never heard of the LOL Boys but the remix is a gem.

Autechre – Bike <----- From Manchester signed to Warp Records. Similar to Squarepusher and Aphex Twin (If I may make that comparison). Beautiful track. At 780 KBPS as well!!

Dj Sneak (Feat. Kid Infinity) – Droppin’ Kisses (Herve Edit) <----Reppin' Chii-town. Sneak is an amazing turntablist. As per usual, Herve made it a great club track with a quirky beat and tight bassline.
