Not Today

I feel sorry for Champagne enthusiasts. Bars worldwide are continually bastardizing this beautiful form of wine. In today's (23.02.2009) NT News, they felt the need to draw attention to the new bar at the casino 'Sand Bar'. Hats off the casino for providing something different for Darwinians. Although I won't go into detail about the poor selection of music, terrible lighting, un-trained bartenders, incorrect cocktail menu and epic fail on the demographic part.

I will however draw attention to the following:

Verbatim.

"According to the menu, the cocktail is a fusion of babicka wormwood, vodka, parma pomegranite liqueuer, paraiso lychee liqueuer and fresh watermelon topped with Dom Perignon".

First of all it's Babicka Wormwood Vodka. (Vodka that is distilled from Wormwood) and it's PAMA Pomegranite Liqueuer. Why must the NT News embarass themselves further? Furthermore, minus the champagne this cocktail would run for approximately $15. (Currently retailing for $500)

Seriously, leave it alone. Drink it in a chilled flute with no accompaniments.

Poor Bastard.

"Come quick! I am tasting the stars!"

- Dom Perignon upon first tasting champagne.
